One of the most meaningful experiences we can have is making an impact on the people we serve.
Online, you may read about people gifting large amounts of money. Expensive jewelry or cars.
You may be wondering, that’s great, but what can I do?
But oftentimes, it’s the small things that matter. The things people take for granted. Like truly listening to someone. Helping them in unexpected ways. Without asking for anything in return.
Some of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had are simply playing with kids and creating activities where their eyes lite up and say “this is the best day ever!”
Or giving them the encouragement to do things they didn’t think possible. Where even their parents, with tears in their eyes, are touched.
Or writing a simple letter showing appreciation to their teachers in a way that shows we truly care and understand. Several teachers have literally broken down with tears of joy when getting these unexpected gestures of appreciation.
If you haven’t had the chance yet to make it the “best day ever” for someone or show gratitude in way that touches someone’s heart, today’s a great day to start.
It doesn’t take any money. Just loving care and attention.
Thanks for caring!
