Fall Cleanup

11/24/2021

During Fall, the leaves turn into beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow. But, unfortunately, they all also fall to the ground and require cleanup.

People come and help us with Fall cleanup every year. Our lawn looks beautiful. However, after one day, leaves from our neighbors start flying in. They have people helping them with Fall cleanup every year as well. But they come at different times. As a result, we both end up with messy yards.

What would happen if one landscape company cleaned up the entire neighborhood at the same time, every year?

The homeowners are happier because their lawns stay beautiful longer. They’ll also like the group discount the landscape company gave.

The landscape workers are happier because they can set their machines in one place and work in an entire neighborhood. They avoid setting up their gear and then moving and traveling to multiple scattered locations across town. Staying in one area saves them time and money.

Since both parties win, why doesn’t this happen more? Because it takes a person to do the heavy work, become the lynchpin, and mobilize the neighborhood. It’s a lot of work. But it only needs to be done once, and everyone’s lives improve for every year after.

It’s not about working harder. It’s about setting up the right system and making things happen.

What processes frustrate your team every year? What systems can you create and lead to make life better?

Thanks for caring!

With gratitude,

Anwell
