Hijacked conversations

​Has anyone ever hijacked a conversation? Moved it to an uncomfortable topic and stayed there?

You could share how uncomfortable you are, but speaking up is hard. So instead, if you have the patience, you could try active listening and explore that topic. Or, you could try the most effortless approach—transition to another, safer topic. You’d be surprised how often this works.
