How do you develop grit?

2/14/2019

The word “grit” is exploding in both the education and corporate worlds.

According the the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, grit means “firmness of mind or spirit : unyielding courage in the face of hardship or danger.”

According to Jon Gordon, “the number one predictor and factor of success is not talent, title, wealth, or appearance. It’s grit!”

Angela Duckworth, a professor of psychology and pioneer in grit research, found that
in study after study, “where talent counts once, effort counts twice.”

So now that you know how important grit is, what are you going to do about it?

How might you get comfortable being uncomfortable, pushing through challenging tasks?

How would you design some experiences to help train and develop your grit in a low stakes way, before a sudden life changing challenge presents itself?

Thanks for caring!

With gratitude,

Anwell Tsai
