Keeping family close

2/9/2019

On a trip to the incredible Galapagos Islands, where wild animals have no fear of humans, I met a wonderful family enjoying their time with each other.

Multiple generations came together to take time for each other, with a grandmother who couldn’t stop smiling proudly at her son, a retired Veteran, who couldn’t stop smiling proudly at his adult daughters, who couldn’t stop smiling playing next to the sea lions who playfully chased them.

They seemed to have it all, until one of the daughters casually mentioned how their brother recently passed away.

Stunned, I didn’t know what to say.

I cannot imagine how they are coping with such a tragedy, but respect them for keeping their family relationships close.

How would you keep your family close, in the face of unimaginable tragedy?

Why wait for tragedy to strike to do it?

Thanks for caring!

With gratitude,

Anwell Tsai
