A teenager jumped up and down with glee and yelled “yes” at the top of her lungs. She ran downstairs and practically skipped into the kitchen to give her parents a hug.
“I did it!” she shouted, laughing. “I did it!!” “I finally lost 5 lbs!”
The mom jumped up and down with her, beaming, giving her high fives. She said “you look so excited about losing 5 lbs. Tell me more.”
The father looked up and said ….
“Yeah, but it’s likely just water weight.”
Has something similar ever happened to you before?
Whether you’re trying to lose weight or tackle a tough project at work, how would you feel if people labeled your emotions, recognized intent, and helped give you precious momentum to continue?
Thanks for caring!
