Imagine your boss told you to enter an industry you had no interest in, work with people you don’t like, and to hold your tongue and listen with absolute obedience everytime your project leader spoke. You had to even walk a certain way.
And there’s nothing you can do about it. You couldn’t even resign.
Most Elementary and Middle School kids have no choice as to what classes they take and which teachers they have. If they don’t like their teachers or classes, there’s nothing they can do. Complaints are met with eye rolls.
One of the most impactful pieces of advice I received was to make my classes as fun and educational as possible. Because the kids had no choice but to take my class.
I had the choice to make it an 11 star experience or not.
The next time you lead a discussion at a meeting, give advice to a friend, or teach a class, how will you make it an 11 star experience?
Thanks for caring!
