A friend gradually lost vision in one eye. It happened so slowly that she didn’t realize it. Luckily, she had the wisdom to visit an eye specialist yearly. Now, since she received early treatment, her vision has recovered.
A similar story happened with my hearing. I gradually lost some of my hearing during my last year at the New England Conservatory. However, I wasn’t wise enough to get routine checkups. I was fortunate to see a doctor who quickly fixed it. Still, I suffered needlessly for a long time.
How do you make sure you catch changes earlier, whether it’s our hearing, our sight, or our physical or mental health?
Thanks for caring!
