Speaking vs communicating
We’ve all met people who are incredible at learning multiple languages. Many can speak 2 or 3 reasonably well. I’ve met a talented individual who can get around with 9.
The record for most languages spoken seems to be the incredible Sir John Bowring, Governor of Hong Kong from 1854 to 1859.
According to Len Fisher of the BBC Science Focus, he knew 200 languages and could speak 100!
But how many people do we know truly communicate well? Who warmly invites others to have meaningful conversations, especially around sensitive topics? And leaves you inspired?
If you haven’t met enough people like this, how would things change if you become that person?
Thanks for caring!
