Three steps to improvement

  1. Observe what’s happening in detail (symptom/problem).
  2. Explore what the root causes are.
  3. Decide how to address it given current priorities (solution).

Which step do you spend the most time?

I routinely skip to three, with poor results.  

What would happen if we channel our inner Einstein, who once said:

“If I had an hour to solve a problem I'd spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and five minutes thinking about solutions.”
